Here are the details of the many professional dart players who appeared in the charity round on Jim Bowen's Bullseye. From series 5 onwards, these professionals were competing for the Bronze Bully, and people often call the charity round the "Bronze Bully round". All of the following is based on this list.
Alan Evans: series 1, 2, 4, 5, 7. Welsh darts player. In series 4, he scored 401 (including two 180s). Challenge doesn't have his series 5 appearance, but in series 5, episode 12 (guest John Cosnett), Bowen said that Alan Evans had the highest charity round for that series so far with 340 points. This means that Alan Evans must have been in series 5 before John Cosnett, so probably episode 9, 10, or 11.

Alan Glazier: series 2, 4, 7, 8, 9. English darts player.

Alan Warriner (Alan Warriner-Little): series 8, 9, 10, 11, 13. English darts player. No relation. He was a contestant in series 7, episode 14 (guest Cathie Gibson-McCulloch), where his pair won, but they chose not to do the gamble. His pair won £565 in cash. After Alan Warriner's appearance on Bullseye, he became a professional.

Ali Timmins (Alison Timmins): series 10. She had been a contestant in series 9, episode 21 (with guest Ray Farrell) when she scored a perfectly spaced 180 in part of the traditional board round. She also won the Star Prize (a car) with her final dart hitting the treble 20. She came back to play for the charity round in series 10.

Angus Ross: series 2. Scottish darts player.

Ann Thomas: series 8. Welsh darts player.

Anthony King: series 4. Anthony King had been a contestant in series 3 (episode 14 with Lionel Blair), and he was the first non-professional to score 180. He came back in series 4 for the charity round, where he scored 268 with 9 darts.

Antonio Muñoz-Ramos: series 12. Spanish darts player.

Bert Vlaardingerbroek: series 8. Dutch darts player.

Billy Lennard: series 1, 2, 3, 8 English darts player.

Bob Anderson: series 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. (Christmas: 6, 8, 10, 11.) English darts player. See pictures of Bob Anderson's appearances in my list of Bob Anderson's appearances on Bullseye page.

Bobby George: series 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13. English darts player. In series 9, episode 17, Bobby George said that he had been in every series since the start. Challenge TV doesn't have his series 2 and 6 appearances. One of the most recognisable darts players. Wore lots of gold and sparkly things. Bowen: "I didn't know whether to give you a kiss or weigh you in for scrap."


Bob Taylor: series 11. Scottish darts player.

Brian Cairns: series 9, 10 Welsh darts player. Scored 340 in series 10.

Cathie Gibson/McCulloch/Gibson-McCulloch: series 5, 6, 7, 8. Scottish darts player. She is sometimes "Cathy" on the show.

Ceri Morgan: series 1, 2, 3. Welsh darts player.

Chris Johns (Chrissy Johns): series 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. Welsh darts player.

Chris Whiting: series 10. English darts player.

Cliff Lazarenko: series 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13. (Christmas: 2, 7.) English darts player. He appeared in every series apart from series 14, and I don't know for sure that he wasn't in that too. Dave Lee: series 4, 5, 7, 9, 14. English darts player. Married to Sandra Lee.

Dave Whitcombe: series 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. English darts player.

David Richardson-Page: series 14. English darts player.

Dennis Hickling: series 6, 9, 10 English darts player. His name is sometimes misspelt as Hicklin on the show.

Dennis Priestley: series 11, 12, 13, 14. (Christmas: 11.) English darts player.

Deta Hedman: series 8, 9, 10. English darts player. In series 10, Jim Bowen says she appeared the year before, which means she must have been in series 9 too, in which case, it was in one of the episodes that Challenge doesn't have.

Eric Bristow: series 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and probably 3 and 6 (Christmas: 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10.) English darts player. One of the most famous dart players of all time. He was known for being extremely cocky, but that sort of thing makes darts more interesting - a bit like the pretend villains in wrestling. He was living with Maureen Flowers for years, and they ran a pub together, which makes them the most darty couple on the planet. He sponsored and mentored Phil Taylor in Phil Taylor's early career. Eric Burden: series 13. Welsh darts player.

Geoff Williams: series 13. English darts player.

Gerry Haywood: series 5, 12. English darts player. His name is spelled as Hayward on the show.

Graham Miller: series 11, 12, 13. English darts player.

Ian Carpenter: series 13. English darts player.

Jamie Harvey: series 12. Scottish darts player.

Jane Stubbs: series 11, 12 English darts player.

Jocky Wilson: series 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. (Christmas: 4, 7, 8.) Scottish darts player. One of the most famous darts players of all time. See pictures of his appearances in my list of Jocky Wilson's appearances on Bullseye page.

John Corfe: series 2. Welsh darts player.

John Cosnett: series 5, 6. English darts player. Scored 361 in series 5.

John Lowe: series 1 (three times, but two were unaired), 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. (Christmas: 6.) English darts player. Again, one of the most famous darts players.

Keith Deller: series 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, and probably 3 and 4. (Christmas: 3, 4.) English darts player. He famously beat Eric Bristow in the 1983 BDO World Darts Championship to become the youngest ever World Darts Champion. His relative youthfulness at the time is why he is dressed as a schoolboy in the series 4 (1984) Bullseye Christmas special episode - Eric Bristow was dressed as a Pearly King; Jocky Wilson wore a kilt. Kevin Kenny: series 6, 11, 12, 13. English darts player.

Kevin Painter: series 13, 14. English darts player.

Leeanne Maddock: series 12, 13. Welsh darts player. She was the youngest charity thrower ever to appear on Bullseye, twice. She threw in series 12 on her seventeenth birthday. (Having said all that, Mark Day must have been nearly the same age when he did the charity round on Bullseye.)

Leighton Rees: series 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. (Christmas 10.) Welsh darts player. One of the greats. Wrote the book: "Leighton Rees on darts". See pictures of Leighton Rees's appearances in my list of Leighton Rees's appearances on Bullseye page.

Lil Coombes: series 4, 5. English darts player.

Lillian Barnett: series 6. New Zealand darts player. Did a traditional dance on the show after doing the charity round.

Linda Batten (Linda Batten-Duffy / Linda Duffy): series 1, 2, 3, 6, 7. English darts player. In series 3, episode 13, Bowen said that she had been voted the most valuable darts player in North America in the previous year. As Dr Linda Duffy, she is now a professor of psychology and has written interesting articles about darts including ones about dartitis, and men and women in darts. Here's an interesting interview with Linda Duffy.

Lionel Smith: series 6, 7. English darts player.

Malcolm Davies: series 6. Welsh darts player.

Mandy Solomons: series 9, 10, 11, 12, 14. (Christmas 12.) English darts player. Very good at darts, and also the first person to wave at the camera.

Mark Day: series 8, 9. English darts player. In series 8, Bowen said that Mark Day had appeared as a contestant "three series ago at 14 years of age", which would have been series 5. I haven't found out which episode yet.

Martin Adams: series 14. English darts player.

Martin Phillips: series 14. Welsh darts player.

Maureen Flowers: series 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 10, and probably 3. (Christmas: 2, 3). English darts player. Maureen Flowers and Eric Bristow were living with each other for years, and ran a pub together in Stoke. When Eric Bristow decided to sponsor and mentor a young darts player, Maureen suggested Phil Taylor, who eventually became so good that he beat Bristow in the 1990 World Championship final. Mike Gregory: series 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13. English darts player.

Paul Lim: series 3 and 10. Singaporean darts player. In series 10, he had flown all the way from the US just to play on the show.

Paul Reynolds: series 9. English darts player.

Paul Williams: series 14. English darts player.

Peter Evison: series 7, 8, 9, 10, 12. English darts player. He was a Bullseye contestant in series 6. He returned as a charity thrower in series 7 after becoming a professional. Here's a Daily Star article about him.

Peter Locke: series 4, 6, 7. Welsh darts player.

Peter Masson: series 5. Scottish darts player.

Phil Gilman: series 12. English darts player.

Phil Taylor: series 10, 11, 12, 13. (Christmas: 11, 12.) English darts player. One of the greats. He started off by being sponsored and mentored by Eric Bristow, who ran a pub with Maureen Flowers in Stoke where Phil Taylor lived. He eventually beat Eric Bristow in the 1990 World Championship final.

Rab MacKenzie (Robert MacKenzie): series 6. Scottish darts player.

Ray Battye: series 9, 10. English darts player.

Ray Farrell: series 7, 8, 9, 10. Northern Irish darts player.

Raymond van Barneveld (Raymond Barneveld): series 11, 13. Dutch darts player.

Ritchie Gardner: series 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. English darts player.

Rod Harrington: series 11, 12, 14. (Christmas 12.) English darts player.

Ronnie Baxter: series 13. English darts player.

Ronnie Sharp: series 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13. Scottish darts player.

Sandra Lee (Sandra Gibb-Lee): series 5. Welsh darts player. Was Sandra Gibb before she married Dave Lee.

Scott Coleman: series 13. English darts player. He was a contestant on Bullseye in series 6, episode 1 (guest Bob Anderson), where he and his partner were the first to go out. He became a professional afterwards. I think that the episode when he was a contestant is one of the lost episodes, but a VHS (Betamax?) version has been put on YouTube by @betaman7988 here. Jim Bowen wears a pink suit in that episode, which makes it very easy to recognise.


Sean Palfrey: series 11. Welsh darts player.

Sharon Colclough: series 11. English darts player.

Sharon Kemp: series 4, 5, 6, 7. English darts player.

Sonja Ralphs: series 6, 7. English darts player. Was pregnant in series 7. Bowen: "Madam, account for yourself!"

Steve Beaton: series 12, 13. English darts player. Scored 340 in series 13.

Steve Brennan: series 2, 3, 4, 5. Northern Irish darts player.

Terry Collins: series 7. English darts player.

Terry O'Dea: series 4, 6. Australian darts player.

The obligatory costume when greeting an Australian in the early 1980s:

Tony Brown: series 1, 2, 3.

Tony Green: series 1. (Christmas: 4.) Bullseye scorer and sports commentator. He threw as a professional at the end of series 1, and he came back in series 2 to do the scoring. In series 4, he threw in a celebrity Christmas episode while Anne Aston (co-presenter of the Golden Shot) kept the scores.

Tony Skuse: series 2. Welsh darts player. He appeared in what I think is a lost episode. In pictures I've seen of Tony Skuse elsewhere, he had glasses and a beard, but that's probably not enough to identify him.
