Which series are these from? The answers are underneath the pictures.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 6: Behind Tony Green is the red spider's web pattern surround that only appears in series 6.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 10: You can see the blue sofa on a blue platform - these only appear in series 9 and 10. The central section of the audience is much wider than the sofa, so this must be series 10 when the audience was much larger. (You can also see the left-hand side of the audience is rectangular, which only happens with the larger audience.)

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 7. You can see a double semi-circle at the bottom of the staircase, so this must be series 6 or 7. (If it were a triple semi-circle, it would be series 5). If this were series 6, the spider's web design around the traditional board would be red. Therefore, it must be series 7.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 13 or 14 (they are identical). You can see that the circular markers to indicate where contestants should stand are not placed over any of the red segments of the black and red floor. The markers only appear in series 12, 13 and 14, but in series 12, one marker was entirely in a red segment.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 8. Only series 8 had a grey sofa on a blue platform.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 9. You can just see a blue sofa behind Jim Bowen. There were only blue sofas in series 9 and 10. Series 10 had a much wider audience, while series 9 had an 8 by 8 central audience section. You can see staircases either side of the central section, so this is a smaller audience, and it must be series 9.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 10. You can just see a blue sofa on a blue platform at the right of the picture. Such sofas only appeared in series 9 and 10. Series 9 had a smaller audience with a triangular left-hand section. Series 10 had a bigger audience with a rectangular left-hand section. In this picture, there is a rectangular left-hand section, and the central audience extends past the sofa platform. Therefore, this must be series 10.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 5. This is the surround for the traditional board. The white centre with red outside only appeared in series 2, 3, 4, 5. (Series 1 had green in the outer border; series 6 onwards had a spider's web design). This surround has a blue neon light around it, which only appeared in series 5. You can also guess from the lighting that this must be from series 5 onwards.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 7. You can see the spider's web surround for the traditional board, so this must be from series 6 onwards. It is blue, though, so it must be series 7 onwards. You can see part of the semi-circles at the bottom of the stairs, which only appeared in series 5, 6 and 7. Therefore, this must be series 7.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 11. You can just make out the red and beige platform that only appeared in series 11.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 4. Sharon Kemp is throwing at a board to the right of the set. In series 1, 2, 3, there were two rotating frames holding the dart boards on either side of the set, but the traditional board was on the left. In series 4, there was a single rotating frame holding all the boards, and it was on the right of the set. In series 5 onwards, the rotating frame was on the left of the set.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 5. There is a triple semi-circle at the bottom of the stairs. This only appeared in series 5. (Series 6 and 7 had double semi-circles, and other series didn't have any semi-circles.)

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 5. The only series that had long thick microphones (like Mini Milk icecreams) was series 5. (Other clues are that the rich yellow circle desk design only appeared in series 4 and 5. Series 2 and 3 had a duller yellow. Series 1 was blue. Later series had level topped desks without circles.)

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 7. Jim Bowen is at the bottom of the stairs and addressing the audience and the viewers. He never did this standing here unless he had just walked down the stairs at the beginning of a show. The only time he ever walked down the stairs to do the introduction was in series 7. (He didn't always do it in series 7, but he usually did.)

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 11 Christmas special. You can see the red and beige platform behind the celebrities.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 4. There is a rich yellow circle behind the contestant, so it must be series 4 or 5. Series 5 had thick "Mini-milk" microphones, but this one is narrow and metal. Another clue is that the contestant is looking to our right at Jim Bowen. The quiz desk was on the left of the set in series 1, 2, 3 and 4, and to the right of the set in later series. Series 2 and 3 had yellow circles, but they were much paler. (Series 2 had round name badges and series 3 had bulb microphones.)

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 11. You can just make out the red and beige platform on the far side of Jim Bowen.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 4. Jim Bowen and the contestant are both looking to our right. They must be watching someone throwing darts as that is the nature of Bullseye. The only time Bowen would be stood with his arm around a contestant would be if their partner were throwing darts in the Prize Board round or the Star Prize round. (He does this to keep contestants in the right place for the cameras.) All other throwing involves competing contestants, in which case Bowen would be stood at the quiz carousel. Bowen wouldn't be worried about the Prize Board round, so this must be the Star Prize round with the traditional board. The traditional board was only on the right of the set in series 4.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 9. The blue sofa only appears in series 9 and 10. The sofa is slightly narrower than its blue platform, so we can tell that the audience isn't much bigger than the platform. Series 10 had a much bigger audience. Also, series 10 onwards had edge-to-edge carpeting on the stairs, while this carpet doesn't reach to the edges.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 10. You can see the blue sofa so it must be series 9 or 10. The audience extends to the left far past the sofa, and you cannot see the stair case gap on the right. The audience is much wider than 8 by 8. The big audience started in series 10.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 8. We can see the grey sofa on a blue platform that only appeared in series 8. Also, series 8 was the only one with two lines on the oche mat.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 12. The red and black floor only appeared in series 11, 12, 13 and 14. This isn't series 11 as there is no red and beige platform. This must be series 12 as series 13 and 14 had silver lines separating the red and black where the thrower's stools were.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 5. Long thick microphone and a rich yellow background.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 11. This is the only series where the buzzer lights were built into the top of the quiz desk.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 4. There is a foil curtain behind the audience.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 7. It must be series 6 or 7 because of the double semi-circle at the bottom of the stairs. The oche mat has three lines on it, so this must be series 6. Series 7 has four lines on the oche mat.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 5. There is a rotating frame holding three boards, which occured in series 4 onwards. It has neon around the outside, and you can see neon going up the side of the audience - therefore, it must be series 5 onwards. The traditional board has a white body and red outside which in series 6 onwards had been replaced by the spider's web design. Therefore, it must be series 5.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 5. The only series with three semi-circles at the bottom of the stairs was series 5.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 12. There are round markers to tell the contestants where to stand. These only appeared in series 12, 13 and 14. One of the markers is on the red segment on the floor. In series 13 and 14, none of the markers was entirely on a red segment.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 13 or 14. There is a red and black floor. There is no red and beige platform that you get in series 11. There are silver lines along the red and black borders, which only occurs in series 13 and 14.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 4. There are black crosses on the red and beige interlocking circles design. The crosses are unique to series 4. The big yellow circles on the back wall are single ones, while series 1, 2, 3 had double ones.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 7. Bowen is addressing the audience and the viewers at the bottom of the stairs, which he only does at the beginning of an episode after having walked all the way down the stairs. In series where we see the audience and in which he appears at the top of the stairs, he only walks all the way down them to address the audience in series 7.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 9. There is a blue sofa on a blue platform, and the central part of the audience is only slightly wider than it. The left-hand part of the audience is triangular.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 13 or 14. This type of desk with a thick base only appeared in series 11, 12, 13, 14. In series 11, the buzzer lights were set in the top of the desk. In series 12, the neon on the left wall behind the contestants was pretty much aligned. In series 13 and 14, it was diagonally staggered as it is here.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 8. The only series that had two lines on the oche mat was series 8.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 10. You can just make out the blue sofa on a blue platform in the very right of the picture. The audience is larger, so this must be series 10.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 12. There is a desk with a thick base. The buzzer lights are not incorporated into the top of the desk (as they would be in series 11). The ends of the neon strips on the left-hand wall are pretty much aligned (they would not be in series 13 and 14).

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 4. Pot Luck only appears in the category board in series 4.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 12. There is a black and red floor, but no red and beige platform (as there would be in series 11), and no silver lines separating the segments under the thrower seats (as there would be in series 13 and 14).

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 12 again, for the same reasons.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 13 or 14. There are markers, but none of them is entirely on a red floor segment. Also, the line on the oche mat is set about six inches from the end.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 5, episode 1. In the first episode of series 5, there were no triple semi-circles at the bottom of the stairs. We can still tell it is series 5 because the category board has white, black and red rings. In series 6 onwards, it had yellow arrows instead. In series 4 and before, we wouldn't see the audience all the time.

^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 11. The floor is black and red, so it must be series 11, 12, 13, or 14. Series 12, 13 and 14 had round markers to indicate where to stand, so it must be series 11.

^
^
^
^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 5. Only series 5 had this type of squashed straight-edged digit in the on-screen scoring.

^
^
^
^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 3. The thrower is not dressed for throwing darts - they are wearing a long sleeved leather jacket. Therefore, they must be a celebrity. Celebrities only appeared in series 3 and 4. Series 4 had the traditional board on the right-hand side of the set. Therefore, this must be series 3.

^
^
^
^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 4. On the back wall of the set is a yellow circle. If this were series 1, 2 or 3, there would be a double circle, while this one is single. In series 5 onwards, we could see the audience, so this must be before then. It can only be series 4.

^
^
^
^
^
^
^
^
^
^
^
^

Series 13 or 14. This is the letter U off the Winmau board. Only series 13 and 14 have the text Winmau written on the board without any inverted commas.
